TheOilyEsti is a blog space that explores the topic of beauty in many forms – skincare brands and reviews, to the science behind our favorite products and cultural representation in the space of beauty.

A Brief History

While you are here there are a few things you should know about me, so lets get started. First things first, I have a passion for beauty and helping others feel great about themselves. My love for the beauty industry started a little over 3 years ago and I haven't been able to shake it. All women want to feel like their best selves and with my knowledge of advanced skin care and professional makeup training, I do all I can to provide a service that will leave who ever is in my chair feeling amazing!

In 2015 I received my license in Advanced Esthetics and immediately went into the field. I worked as the lead esthetician for a well known Columbus salon and spa before transitioning into a career more makeup focused after being Hired by The Makeup Authority, MAC Cosmetics. During my time in the industry I have worked with several fashion designers, stylists, photographers and models on projects ranging from music videos for local artists, to run way shows at Columbus Fashion Week. In 2016 I was named a Columbus Power Professional and spoke, alongside a panel of my peers, to women looking to start and grow their own businesses.

I have also volunteered my services to the Columbus City Schools offering complementary makeup application to high school girls going to senior prom and homecoming as well as teaching classes with the Girl Scouts of America on proper skin care and age appropriate makeup application. At this point in my career I am taking steps to incorporate beauty influencing as a part of my business by using platforms such and Youtube and Instagram Stories to connect with and inspire a larger audience, as well as helping to fill the gap for women of color in the beauty industry and creating products for my clients to further enhance their makeup experience. All in all, beauty is what I love and I hope to share that love with you one day, See you soon!
