Smelling good has always been apart of my personal care routine, I was introduced to body mists and perfumes at a pretty young age. I remember my grandmother having a dresser full of different fragrances, they all had fancy looking bottles with strong aromas that made me think of grown up stuff and big church hats. She taught me the importance of looking good and smelling better!

Ive recently started following a new account on twitter an tiktok and obsessed isn’t really even the word. Black Girls Smell Good is “a community of fragrance obsessed Black girls” created and ran by Maiya Gant, who I just knows smells like sugar, spice and everything nice! Her smooth voice is what draws you in but its the knowledge of fragrance and the tips she shares on how to wear them that gets you hooked.

Ive chosen to share a few scent combinations courtesy of Maiya that I know would be perfect for anyone looking to update their fall fragrance routine with something sweet, sexy and warm, check them out!

Niveas Vanilla & Almond Oil lotion is a great pair with Tom Fords Lost Cherry Perfume, according to Maiya “Cherries and almonds are basically cousins”, she explains in one of her video about pairing scents. She also tells us how layering scents starts in the shower, so a nice way to enhance the longevity aroma of a fragrance is to combine it with a body wash or body butter that shares similar notes!

Kilians Love Dont Be Shy has notes of caramel, jasmine and vanilla that gives it a sweet scent that smells rich and edible!
